We understand the rush that comes over some consumers when they circle deals in the newspaper or boast about their finds on Instagram. The part we can’t quite wrap our heads around is how they’re able to get off the couch and drive to the store after three helpings of stuffing and yams in the first place. For that reason alone, we’re thankful to the luxury travel industry for its Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals this holiday weekend. Read on for limited-time specials all over the country (and the Caribbean) that will make for great family vacations, romantic winter getaways and even that personal escape you’ll undoubtedly need after encountering the long lines and short tempers this holiday season.
This Colorado ski town is even more appealing than usual thanks to Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star Hotel Madeline Telluride’s Cyber Monday deal. The property’s Ski & Spa package goes for $600 and includes a two-night stay in a deluxe king, two one-day ski passes, two 60-minute massages and more. Not to be outdone, Lumière Telluride has a weekend offering where, if you purchase two nights at any room class, you get a third night complimentary. This deal is good for travel between November 26 and December 20, February 1 and 12, and March 29 and April 6.
When you think about Christmastime in the Big Apple, images of Rockefeller Center, the Rockettes and really good shopping probably come to mind. Trump SoHo New York helps out with the latter this year with a special this weekend, giving you 30 percent off of suite reservations at the Four-Star hotel or any of the other Trump Hotel Collection properties around the globe. As if being just nine minutes from Times Square weren’t enough, the hotel is donating $10 from every reservation to St. Jude Hospital’s Thanks and Giving campaign.
Santa Fe, N.M.
New Mexico’s capital city is rich in fine arts and fabulous cuisine. With La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa’s two Cyber Monday offerings, you can take full advantage of them both. One deal is for a $99 room at the wonderfully situated downtown hotel. The other is a $199 special that includes accommodations, breakfast for two and one 50-minute spa treatment. Both specials apply to stays happening before March 31.
Late-November temperatures in the City of Roses average a brisk 40 degrees, but the Monday deals at two high-end area properties warm things up nicely. When you subscribe to Provenance Hotels’ email list or visit the Facebook pages for Hotel deLuxe or Hotel Lucia, you’ll have an opportunity to book a room at 35 percent off the best available rate. This sale also applies to all of Provenance’s other properties — the artsy brand has addresses in places such as Seattle and Nashville, too — but it is limited to 100 rooms per hotel.
Beverly Hills, Calif.
Rarely are the words “discount” and “90210” ever mentioned in the same breath, but with this delightful offer from Montage Beverly Hills, that is about to change. On Cyber Monday, the esteemed Five-Star property will slash 40 percent off of stays from December 2 through February 28. And as an additional touch of pizzazz, you will also receive a complimentary bottle of champagne upon check-in.
Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Property (or as the hotel affectionately refers to itself, “The Jewel of the Desert”) sparkles even brighter this holiday season with this winner: On Cyber Monday, some rooms at the postcard-perfect resort will go for $159 a night (for stays from December 2 to 19), and that includes a $50 voucher that can be used towards the spa, retail or, if you’re in the mood for Wright’s at the Biltmore’s succulent sea bass, on-property dining, too.
When the wind blows you in this city’s direction, you’ll have two top-shelf properties to pick from for your stay: JW Marriott Chicago and Conrad Chicago. The former is a Financial District hotel with a wallet-approved $159 room rate over the holiday weekend (good for stays from December 15 to February 13). The latter is a Magnificent Mile charmer that will offer its Luxury of Being Yourself package — which includes a complimentary upgrade or breakfast — for 25 percent off on Monday.
The Adirondacks, N.Y.
For an experience that’s about as far from the holiday ruckus of department stores as you can imagine, head toward this area in Upstate New York. Before you visit, however, go online on Cyber Monday for Four-Star Lake Placid Lodge’s bevy of e-deals that range from 50 percent off of two-room cabins to 30 percent off of lakeview cabins and pay-for-two-nights-get-a-third-free specials.
If the only thing you’ve asked Santa for this year are a few tranquil days on a beach, the big guy’s heard your wish. On Monday, Curaçao’s Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort will have its all-inclusive packages through December 24 going for up to 45 percent off. Another beachfront beauty, Anguilla’s CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa, tantalizes on Sunday and Monday with junior suites priced 40 percent lower than normal. Stays are good through December 20.
If your body has had enough of the holiday shopping season before it even really gets going, set up an appointment at Four-Star Mandarin Oriental, San Francisco’s gem of a spa. The facility is offering half-off prices on three of its most popular services — the Mandarin Oriental Pedicure, the Ultimate Radiance Facial and the Mandarin Oriental Signature Spa Therapy Massage — for treatments on Black Friday only. This way you’re sure to be loose and limber for your fight with the Saturday mall crowds.
Who in the world wants to shiver in the snow when you could be lounging by the pool with a snow cone? If you didn’t raise your hand, your next move should be visiting Turnberry Isle Miami’s website and taking advantage of a weekend deal where guests can reserve rooms through March 1 at 30 percent off the normal rate. Another South Florida property, Loews Miami Beach, is getting in on the holiday fun with a secret sale of its own. Though the specifics won’t be released until early Black Friday, we do know that other properties such as Loews Atlanta and Loews Santa Monica Beach will also be participating.
