Room with a View: China World Summit Wing, Beijing

Beijing is a rapidly growing city with over 15 million inhabitants, so as you can imagine, the streets are littered with cars. Traffic in the Chinese capital is notoriously bad, and it can take an hour during rush hour to travel from one end of the city to the other. While staying at China World Summit Wing, we were awed by the hotel’s breathtaking city views (when there wasn’t too much smog), but one of the sights that struck us most was 5 p.m. rush hour traffic on Chang’An Avenue and the city’s 3rd Ring Road. As you can see, it’s bumper-to-bumper, with Beijing’s inhabitants leaving the Central Business District (where the China World Summit Wing is located) and heading home.
